Mazda Keyless Entry and Remote Start

Keyless Entry
Keyless entry is an increasingly popular option that lets you unlock your car without having to take out your key fob, or touch the door handle. It operates by sending short-range radio signals which are recognized by your car's key fob when it's in range. The signals are encrypted therefore they aren't able to be intercepted or hacked.
Your key fob is then able to send a response to the car that unlocks the doors or trunk. The system can also turn on the hazard warning light and activate the audio system to deter thieves. You can alter the volume of these features.
Some Mazda vehicles come with a more sophisticated version of keyless entry that allows you to press the button on your key fob to lock or unlock the car. This is ideal if you have children in the back seat. This feature is known as proximity key entry.
To get the most value of your Mazda's advanced keyless entry system, ensure that the battery fully charged. If the key fob's buttons do not work or the range of its operation narrows, it may need a new battery. To replace the battery, you must remove the auxiliary key made of metal and then open the case of the key fob. Use a flathead screwdriver with tape to open the case, one side at a time. The battery for the key fob is located behind a slot in the case, and it is possible to see it when the key that is used for the auxiliary key is removed.
Keyless Start
You can start your car without the use of a key. It works by sending radio signals to your car when you are within 5-10 feet. It is activated when key fobs are within of. The system also lets you choose to unlock your doors or trunk using the same button, and some systems allow voice commands to operate the vehicle.

Security
The 2022 Mazda 3 provides anti-theft protection through two main sources that include a theft deterrent alarm system and an immobilizer. The alarm will sound and flash, then stop the engine if a person attempts to gain entry to the vehicle. Mazda Connected Services is also included in the trial period of three years, including automatic emergency calling and remote starting.
The alarm will also sound in the event that you, or anyone else, tries to open the trunk without a key or to start the car. When the alarm is activated it will remain in effect for approximately two seconds after you press the unlock button or trunk release lever. You can also disable the alarm by pressing the lock button or turning the key in the ignition.
If the security indicator light on your Mazda continues to illuminate or flash, contact an authorized repairer as soon as possible. This could indicate a problem with the key, its transmitter or the immobilizer system. A technician authorized by the manufacturer can reset the codes of the keys and the immobilizer to block any misuse.
You can also secure your Mazda keyfob from misuse by installing a new battery. Remove the tape from the case of the key fob, then lift the cover and replace it. Be careful not to damage the rubber ring which holds the new battery.
